When two Concorde nose cones (technically known as the radome) sold for over GBP 300K ($450K) each at auction in 2003 it created a huge amount of media interest. Measuring 3.5 Metres in length (or height as in the picture) the Concorde Nose is undoubtedly the distinctive feature that most people associate with Concorde. For an idea of the scale scroll down to view the picture at the bottom of this page. Thw Concorde Nose comes complete with the Pitot Head point at the tip. This is currently stored near Heathrow Airport where it may be viewed by appointment. This Concorde Nose was manufactured for use on a full sized mock up of Concorde that was originally made to promote the aircraft to potential buyers and prototype the design. PLEASE NOTE. THIS IS NOT A FLOWN ITEM and whilst identical in appearance to the actual flown items is a display piece only. A beutiful piece of iconic sculpture, an attention grabber for a product launch. You decide. This Item has been sold |
