Concorde Engine Blades

This flown engine blade was removed from the engine of one of BA's Concorde aircraft during servicing. Mounted on a wooden plinth with felt base and featuring a polished chrome plaque reading "Concorde Engine Blade' - Mike Bannister - Chief Concorde Pilot". It has been hand signed by Mike Bannister at our offices. A great gift for a Concorde or aviation enthusiast and also a great investment. It comes with a certificate of authenticity supplied by British Airways.

This Rolls Royce Olmpus 593 Turbojet engine high pressure nozzle guide vane is located ahead of the high pressure turbine. It job is to guide the high pressure and high speed extremely hot gasses onto the the turbine in the correct direction for optimum efficiency. Each vane is hollow with connecting cooling holes which allow it to survive in what is one of the hottest area of the engine. There were relatively few of these compared to the blades and they tended to need less replacing so these items are quite rare. This is very much a used item and the metal shows discolouration resulting from the extreme temperatures to which it has been subjected. This nozzle Guide Vane was manufactured by Rolls Royce.
